One of the largest trends of the season that transcends gender is micro prints. Whether the prints themselves are in the form of birds, trees, bicycles or flowers… micro is massive for 2014.
I decided to invest in this botanical button-down, mostly because I knew I was going to be in Cabo San Lucas, but also because I think hitting select trends on the head can make your style POP. When I get back home to the bitter cold of Canada’s winter, I can wait a month (or two) then toss on a navy blazer to subdue the whimsy of this shirt.
I wore a more subtle short with the look to tone the colors down a bit and decided that this Guess watch completed the look perfectly. The pops of rose gold against the deep sea blue took this shirt to the tropics, but when I pair it with a navy blazer it’ll sing and be perfect for city living.
So go out and brighten up your wardrobe with some micro prints for the New Year, and you’ll be surprised at how easy they are to work into your existing wardrobe.
