As spring comes slowly along in Hong Kong, we are finally able to shed away some layers and let the skin breathe. Chinese New Year just passed, and so I decided to throw together a look that has a touch of colour but is still suitable for work.
Black items have been my staple in the colder months, and so even though it’s starting to get warm, I feel like it’s still a good idea to utilize some fall items into my spring looks. For example, the top and shoes I’m sporting have been my best pals in colder months, paired with skinny jeans and a nice thick coat. But paired with this patterned skirt for a pop of colour, and they are good for another few months. When I was putting together the look, I knew I had to let the skirt’s print shine so I muted all the other items to balance the entire look.
I almost wear no accessories as I’m quick to get out the door in the morning, but a timepiece is a must for practical and aesthetic reasons. This GUESS beauty with a pristine white band is definitely something different from my usual dark coloured choices, but it brings an unexpected touch of energy to the whole outfit. Almost a little sport chic, which is exactly the trend of the season!
The next season is here soon, so I hope this helps you transition your wardrobe and gave you a little inspiration as to how to subtly coordinate your colours!
